About Bali Airport
Over fifteen million passengers went through Ngurah Rai International Airport in 2013, placing it at third in Indonesia, and it is currently growing at a rate that will see the airport reach its twenty million capacity within 3 years. Ngurah Rai International Airport has two terminals to service passengers that travel to and from it: the International Terminal, and the Domestic Terminal. The International Terminal is newer and has 10 gates, while the Domestic terminal is older and has only 8 gates and is currently being renovated.
The airport is not able to handle the amount of domestic traffic it receives, requiring some passengers to be bused to and from their planes, until the overhaul of the Domestic terminal is finished. The terminal does have several amenities to compensate such as prayer rooms, showers and massage service. Lounge areas are also provided that make the wait between flights more comfortable for passengers.
Because of the beauty, tropical locale, and the efforts of the government of Bali to promote international tourism, Denpasar International Airport has experienced tremendous growth in the last decade. More than 17 million passengers passed through the airport in 2012 and the facility handled more than 62 million tons of freight
